Highway Products manufacturers the body to your requirements. Not what's sitting in the yard at a dealer. Got special needs?

You have a demanding job with your fire trucks on call 24-7, loaded to the max with as much water as they can carry. Traveling off-road to get to the hot spots puts these small but incredible rigs in some tough spots. Twisting the truck frame and flatbed every which way but loose in some cases. This means: No skimping allowed on understructure with our brand of Strongback™ flatbeds. T-6061 aluminum alloy SAE structurally proven and designed extrusions are standard material demanded by our engineering staff. The outside channel beams are six inch T6061 aluminum with 4"inch cross members welded every 12" inches. No rivets to pop loose on a side-hill here.

Just as you can pick the perfect flatbed, you can also pick the type of pump system from the manufacturer you like.

Some fire companies, with in-house mechanics, prefer to build their own. Most will purchase a "slip-on" unit which has a water tank-pump combination that can simply be slipped on your truck bed.

Carry more water. The less your truck weighs the more water you can carry. Weight is a problem. Highway Products Strongback™ is 100% Light-weight aluminum.

We give you the opportunity to outfit your quick response emergency vehicle accessories the way it works for you.

Some options can only be added while the body is in production. Like this under-bed hose storage (shown left). Place your cursor over the picture to see. Highway Products manufacturers the body to your requirements. Not what's sitting in the yard at a dealer.

Your Truck Body Must Be Weather-Tight! Our Rainmaster® style doors give your truck body a weather-tight seal that can't be beat!

Highway Products developed this unique Rainmaster® style of internal rain gutter in 1984 for our semi and heavy truck tool boxes. It was so successful we carried it over to our truck body products. You can see the simplicity of this design makes sense and is very weatherproof.

Notice the rugged rain-gutter design surrounds the box opening and actually channels water away before it makes contact with the Trim-lok™ automotive style weather stripping. Hence the name Rainmaster®.

Field-Tested Locks - The same rugged locks and hinges our legendary semi truck tool boxes are known for.

Highway Products opened it's doors in 1980 building products for semi trucks. The stainless steel "Tee Lock" was the only lock capable of the demanding performance required. It's strong and dependable. That's why we install them as standard. We also have D-ring locks for fire departments.

We've used many different styles of locks over the years. If you have a favorite, let us know. Warning: Do Not Buy Service Bodies with Electric key-fob locks. We've tried them all and they are not dependable. We stopped using them.

Proven Hinges 14 Gauge Stainless Steel - 1/4 inch pin.

One of the most over-looked and under-estimated parts of a truck body is the hinge and the way it's fastened. As you can see, Highway Products eliminated this problem by using oversized stainless steel hinges.

Plus, Highway Products uses Stainless Steel Torx™ screws that allows user to replace a door with simple tools in case of damage. No rivets here. Rivets work loose over time and you need special tools to replace them.

Rust is the number one killer of Emergency Vehicle Accessories. Especially in the northeast regions of the USA where salt is used for ice control. Steel just does not hold up to it.

You can put all the fancy coatings you want on steel but they cannot withstand the constant sand blasting from the road and they can't paint the nooks and crannies where moisture sneaks into.

They may look good from the topside but underneath is where they get blasted and underneath is where they fall apart. Some service bodies don't last more than a year.

Repeat customers are our biggest asset. We know getting an order from you the second time depends on how well we performed the first time. Our goal, give you that good of product and service to where you will not only buy from us again, but brag about us to your friends.

Here's What We Suggest. CALL US. While it's still fresh in your mind. Even if you're looking at buying a year from now. Let us get you a quote and send you a preliminary blueprint.

This will give you some time to think about what options you want and the cost.

Then, when it's time, you simply call and order. We already know who your are, have your specs, and you get what works for you. Not what's sitting on someone's lot!
